Minneapolis Firefighters Save Three From Blaze

Sept. 16, 2011
Fire Wednesday morning at a multi-family home in south Minneapolis has sent three people to the hospital, authorities said. The blaze broke out about 5:15 a.m. in the 3300 block of Bryant Avenue South, said Assistant Fire Chief Cherie Penn. There was heavy fire on the first and second floors by the time fire crews arrived, Penn said, but firefighters "went in anyway" and rescued the occupants. Flames jumped to a neighboring residential building, forcing its evacuation, she said.
